Rites of passage ceremonies are a tradition that so many women have forgotten but are essential even in today's society. Menarche, also known as the celebration of a girl getting her first period, is a very special and sacred ceremony. Women are often shamed into feeling dirty or unworthy during their cycle, but in fact, the menstrual cycle is what makes a woman so powerful. Through menstruation, we were birthed and have the power to bring life into this world! ThisThIs Red Tent provides a series of Menarche Ceremony suggestions and event planning for those women who would like to make their daughter's first period a special and sacred celebration to always remember!
BTBB MATERNITY SERVICES
This Red Tent has a sister company (Beyond the Baby Bump Maternity Services) that offers prenatal guidance and support for expecting mothers, labor & birth, postpartum and death doula services. A doula is a support person that provides emotional, educational, and physical support to expecting families. Whether you have a spouse or partner that you would like to be present at the birth, or you are traveling your road to motherhood alone, This Red Tent is here to support you in the capacity you need! Hadidah has been assisting mothers in birth for over 10 years and she would love to assist you as well!
ABOUT US
The Red Tent, also known as the Moon Lodge, is a women's only sacred space created for the purpose of building and sustaining the bond between women of a community. The bond that is created in the Red Tent formulates a sisterhood and support system for women through the phases of the Maiden into the Chrone. The Red Tent was where women went to menstruate during the New Moon, birth and raise their children, hold counsel and make life-altering decisions for the community, perform Rites of Passage ceremonies for young girls crossing into menstruation/ womanhood, and be with sisters as support when life became too much. And at This Red Tent, that is exactly what we do! We are so happy that you are here to join our community! Below you will find a form that you can submit to become a member of This Red Tent.
